The Patient Jacket shows a patient’s full study history in one place. It is your go-to view when you need to review prior studies, check a report, add an exam comment, or share a case link with a colleague or support.

Opening the Patient Jacket

  • Any Worklist- Click the person icon in the Actions column (leftmost column next to the checkbox)

  • Open Patient Jacket to its own window - Click the square-with-arrow icon in the upper right to pop it out as its own window 

What you will see in the Patient Jacket

  • Priors summary- an AI-generated snapshot of the patient’s recent report history. Shown at the top of the jacket

  • Relevant Priors with Images Toggle- turn this on (next to Adjust columns) to filter the exam list to studies that have associated images.

  • Exam List- all studies for this patient, with the same search, sort, and filter tools as any worklist

  • Detail Pane (right side)- click a study row opens: study reason, ordering physician, report, tech notes and exam comments. 

Actions available in the Patient Jacket

  • Launch images in Viewer- Click the eye icon to the far left of the study row

  • Copy Link to Exam- Click the double square/infinity icon – this is HIPAA-compliant link copies to clipboard

  • Download DICOM / report / resend- Click the ellipsis (...) to the far right of the study row 
  • Add Exam Comment-  Select the study, then type in the Exam Comments field in the right pane

Exam Comments  are the primary communication channel from technologist to radiologist. And they stay within Sirona. Write them as if speaking directly to the radiologist. 

Notes:

  • Workflow or scheduling notes- use Exam Comments instead
  • Assignment or routing notes- use Exam Comments or the Assign function
  • Personal opinions about the case priority- set the Priority field instead
  • Actions taken or needed to facilitate reading or communication - Use Exam comments and/or Flag as a Critical Result
