An addendum adds information to a report that has already been finalized — for example, when additional clinical context, a correction, or follow-up information needs to be attached to a signed report. Technologists can initiate an addendum and route it to a radiologist for signature.
Note: Addendums must be signed by a radiologist. The technologist's role is to create the draft and route it to the appropriate radiologist for review and signature.
Create an addendum
- Open Search from the left navigation and locate the patient.
- Click the patient row to open the Patient Jacket.
- Click the eye icon on the relevant study row to open the Viewer.
- In the Viewer, click the microphone icon in the upper right corner to open the Reporter.
- In the Reporter window, click Add Addendum in the bottom right corner.
- Enter the addendum text in the field provided.
Save the addendum as a Draft.
The exam status changes to In Progress Addendum. The study appears in My Queue and on the In Progress worklist, where it can be assigned to a radiologist for signature.
Assigning the addendum for signature
From the worklist, use the ellipsis on the study row to Assign the study to the appropriate radiologist. The radiologist will see the draft addendum in their queue, review it, and sign it to finalize.
