Tips & Troubleshooting:

The Philips Premium Touch (SMP3700/3800) & Premium Air (SMP 4000) have a Browser Mode that enables you to connect to any browser-based application without having to install new drivers. This means you can easily switch to Sirona from PowerScribe or Fluency.

NOTE:

  • If you are switching back to PowerScribe or Fluency, it’s important to remember to turn Browser Mode off.
  • PowerScribe and Fluency will not detect these Philips devices if Browser Mode is engaged.
  • It is recommended to plug into USB 2.0 rather than USB 3.0 ports for optimal functionality. (USB 3.0 is colored blue on the connector)
  • User Manual: https://www.dictation.philips.com/fileadmin/Products/smp3700/ifu/smp3700-3800_ifu-en.pdf
  • Philips Control Center Settings: There’s a setting in the Philips Control Center app that mutes your microphone when motion is detected. While this feature isn’t particularly helpful in your case, I’d like to ensure it’s not enabled and causing the problem.
    • To check this, open the Philips Control Center app, navigate to Device > Advanced Settings > Microphone Motion Control.

Confirm you are running firmware version 3.52 or later. You can download the latest version from their support tab on their website at: https://www.dictation.philips.com/us/products/desktop-dictation/speechmike-premium-touch-dictation-microphone-smp3700-3800/
